Glasgow charged up for electric cars

Drivers with electric cars will benefit from new charging points across the city. Sustainable Glasgow has installed Plugged in Places at Wilson Street, Bothwell Street, Scotstoun and Bellahouston leisure centres, Tollcross pool and the Emirates Arena, thanks to a £215,000 grant from Transport Scotland and electricity paid for by Glasgow city council.

Resource Efficient Scotland is to begin offering free specialist consultancy support to local authorities to help them implement energy, water and internal waste reduction projects. Funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Zero Waste Scotland, Resource Efficient Scotland now provides free, independent, specialist advice and support to local authorities and the wider public sector.

75-year-old penny launches Cairngorms e-bike project

An intrepid cycling pensioner has launched the Cairngorms Electric Bike Project – a first for Scotland – giving a whole new meaning to the term “pedal power”! Poll: Brits reveal overwhelming support for renewables

Around four in five people are worried about the UK becoming too dependent on energy from other countries and want to see a reduction in the use of fossil fuels, a new report has revealed.
