Countdown to 2020

Membership criteria

There are no barriers to membership. Any interested organisation or individual can be a member of Scotland’s 2020 Climate Group. However, the key responsibility of membership is that you have to bring something to the table, do something, deliver something or donate money or resource. The Project Team will review your involvement in the Group to ensure that the Group continues to be a delivery organisation.

There are also themes and values that we expect members to follow:

We recognise that members/affiliates will want to dip in and out of the Group depending on what the Group is working on. So we will introduce an annual review of the Group. Members will be sent a reminder, so they can confirm they still want to be a member or they can opt out of it.

Funding decisions

These are made by the Funding Review Group which consists of the Vice Chairs and Sub-Group Chairs. This process is well defined and requires funding requesters to demonstrate how the project will link to one of the 14 for 2014 or ‘step change challenges’. We can share this process document more widely for those that need it.

Priority areas

Decisions relating to priority areas (e.g. 14 activities for 2014 and step change challenges) are made by the Main Group.

Being a critical friend to government

This advisory type role is fulfilled by the Vice Chairs. However if there is a specific topic being discussed, other members of the 2020 Group will be asked to support.
