On Friday, 5 June, 2015, ‘World Environment Day’, Scotland’s 2020 Climate Group held a summit, celebrating successes to-date and a flavour of what’s to come. Ian Marchant stood down as Chair and Lady Rice took up the role in preparation for a new chapter .
The summit brought together government, businesses, academics, non-government organisations (NGOs) and civic society, celebrating what Scotland has achieved to-date and importantly provided an opportunity to hold meaningful conversations and discussions about how to engage a wider audience, enabling us as a country, to close the gap on the targets set. This is only the start of what’s to come over the next five years….
The event also provided a launch platform for an exciting new initiative: a national Centre for Sustainable Practice & Living, which will jointly be supported by the University of Stirling Management School (SMS) and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).
