Scottish Projects top UK submissions
Of the six projects selected for the UK five are based in Scotland - demonstrating Scotland’s commitment to taking positive action on climate change. And we are delighted that two of the projects have a 2020 Group provenance - Scotland’s 2050 Climate Group YLDP and Scotland Lights up Malawi. Well done! And we hope that these two very worthy projects garner a good share of the votes!
Continuing the momentum of COP 21, ‘100 projects for climate‘ aims to speed up the emergence of citizen-led initiatives to combat global warming. This new participative campaign, building on the valuable discussions of the Paris-Climate Conference, will enable 100 most innovative solutions from around the world to become a reality. Spearheaded by Segoline Royale, and delivered with over a dozen partner organisations, the initiative invited citizens across the world to select and nominate projects. The resulting selection all relate key areas of climate action and are part of the broader framework of the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) adopted at the United Nations summit in September 2015. The SDG are a roadmap towards 2030 for citizens of every country. To promote and illustrate the connection between the climate and all these subjects, the projects registered on the platform are all invited to indicate the SDG that they contribute to achieving. Find out more about SDG here.
