Accessibility

Accessibility has been taken into account in developing this website which runs on the Genesis Framework for WordPress.

The accessibility for Genesis Framework sites is generally good and we have taken some additional measures to improve on this.

The site has been tested using the WAVE web accessibility evaluation tool (http://wave.webaim.org/) and code validated using w3c html and css validators. However, as the site relies on the WordPress and Genesis core files and third-party plug-ins, it has not yet been possible to fully meet all guidelines and standards.

Consideration has also been given to the wide range of mobile devices used to access the internet. The site uses responsive design stylesheets to adjust the layout of the site for different viewing widths, so the site should be easily viewable at all screen widths down to 320 pixels.

The site makes use of javascript for some functionality, eg, the Countdown to 2020 and the Events Calendar, and some visual effects, eg, in how the navigation menu displays, however the menu will still function without javascript.

Accessibility will be reviewed on a continuous basis and improvements made where and when possible.
